Summer Vacation 2009

We were on vacation the last week of July 2009. It was great and we did so many fun things!!!!

FALMOUTH 7/25/09

First we started on Saturday 7/25 off with a trip to the beach with Gigi and Gipper! It was so much fun we went to Falmouth and went to Surf Drive beach! It was a little windy but that was ok because there was a great sail boat race going on most of the day and that was really fun to watch. Some of the boats even crashed into one another! Some of the boaters fell over board it was very exciting!!! The water was nice and warm too! Logan spent most of the day running in and out of the water.

Sail Boat Race

Then after the beach we went to the Chart Room for dinner to celebrate my birthday! #35! YIKES... That was really nice and we had a wonderful view of the water from our table.

HORSENECK BEACH 7/27/09

Then we went to the beach again on Monday 7/27 with our friends the Colliers. We went to Horseneck Beach in Westport MA. It was a perfect beach day and the waves were really big! Logan had a blast playing in the sand and going in the water with Daddy!

Logan and Ryan having a snack... 2 COOL DUDES!

Logan and Ryan harrassing Sarah while she was trying to have a little rest... The rest never happened

Fun with The COUSINS!!!! 7/28/09

On Tuesday we visited with Logan's cousins Connor and Cameron and he was so excited to see them. We went to the World War I memorial park and saw all the animals and played at the playground. Boy Logan does not stop he is in constant movement. Which means so am I no matter what.

Awesome Chicken that we saw there! He was so pretty!!!

FENWAY PARK 7/28/09
After a fun day with the cousins Logan's favorite babysitter Emily came over to baby sit while Nate and I went to the Red Sox game. They played the A's and it was the retirement ceremony to retire Jim Rice's number. That was nice to see even though the Sox LOST!!!

Jim Rice getting his crystal bat. It was really neat to see the ceremony!
NH ADVENTURE
On Wednesday we were off to Jackson NH. We had such a fun time up there!

We walked around North Conway and went in all the shops Logan is really interested in Moose now unfortunately he probably thinks all Moose are stuffed because we were not able to see a live one while we were up there! But we did get to see a few life sized fake ones...

Logan thought this bear was real and would not sit down by himself... It was cute!

We took a ride over to Franconia Notch and hiked up the Flume Gorge http://www.visitnh.gov/flume/index.html and that was awesome! Logan loved it he got to hike in style in the baby backpack carried by Nate of course. Logan got so excited when we neared the top of the gorge because there is a water fall and the water sprays over the edge and you get all misted it felt really good because at that point we were pretty hot.

The water spray was getting on us and Logan LOVED it! He was screaming with excitement!
Here we are on our way back down...
Family photo (Self portrait) By the covered bridge at the Flume Gorge.

Logan got out of the backpack on the way down because he wanted to "go hikin"
He was able to put his hand in the nice cold water that was running down the rock formations.

We made a visit to Nate's Almamater Plymouth State University where we had lunch and an ice cream before heading off to the Swift River for a dip. Logan and Nate went in for a nice swim and Logan was really being very independent because he didn't want to hold our hand on the rocks. The river was running pretty fast so we were a bit nervous. He had a blast and it was so much fun to see his expression of joy!

On Friday our Friends the Logie's came up and we took a fun ride on the Conway Scenic Railway http://www.conwayscenic.com/. Logan and Drew had a blast. The train's horn was quite loud every time it blew Logan had a puzzled expression on his face and Drew covered his ears.

The train ride was 55 min and it was the perfect amount of time. I think if it were any longer Logan may have jumped off!
On Saturday we headed to Storyland. http://www.storylandnh.com/ This was a fun filled day!

Logan has been very interested in "driving Mommy Car" and "Drive Nate car"

So the first ride we went on was the old fashioned cars. He got to drive all by himself. He was so excited that sometimes he forgot to steer the car! Good thing we were on a track!!!

He would turn and say to his buddy who was in the car behind us "Drew I drive Caahhh"
It was so funny!
I was so glad he enjoyed the drive since we waited 1 hour for our first ride and he held his breath and turned blue while waiting!

Logan driving the old fashioned car! I had to assist a bit!

HIGH Above StoryLand!

We took a ride on the tea cups and a tractor ride and a swan boat ride. We stopped for a bit to have lunch. It was a really great fun day.

Logan on the tea cups. At first he didn't know what to make of it once it got moving he loved it
Nate on the tea cups. It wasn't that bad at all

On the flying wooden shoe

So happy on the Carousel ride. He never liked them before this was the first time he truly enjoyed a Carousel!!!!

Baby Harrison... The unsung HERO of the trip to StoryLand! Never made a peep the entire day!

Logan was able to sleep in a big boy bed while we were at the condo and he did really great. What a relief!

Passed out in the big boy bed (with floral bedding) after a long day at StoryLand

He and his buddy Drew shared a bedroom and totally surprised us that they were very focused and were not distracted by one another at bed time much...
One of Logan and Drew's many wrestling matches...

We had a wonderful and relaxing vacation we all really needed it!
Summer is 1/2 over now! So sad but we are really having a wonderful summer!!!
